Here's some good news. A dog was rescued after spending 3 weeks on a big mass of floating debris out at sea. He must have scavenged for food to stay alive all that time. It's a miracle that he was in such good shape and was not injured. Yay for the dog and the rescuers. Hope floats!

In my first year as a student at the Fashion Institute, I got a part-time job as an assistant designer for a children's wear company in downtown L.A. There was one food truck that stopped by during lunchtime that had the best chili I've ever tasted - hands down. It was spicy and rich, the perfect comfort food for cooler weather.

My husband scored one of our more memorable hotel stays this past holiday. Visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday, we stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Redondo Beach for $44 + tax a night. This is my first attempt at making vegan Mac n' Cheese. I borrowed the recipe from EFA and EtsyVeg friend, Heather, over at Worcester Vegan Eats.

When I first saw this on Apartment Therapy, I had a big grin on my face. My husband and I do something similar (though not as elaborate by any means) because he often puppets my moves and parrots what I say and we laugh together a lot. Suppose that comes naturally from knowing each other for 23 years.

My husband and I have been enjoying Trader Joe's vegan Soy Chorizo, making tasty burritos out of them, thanks to Angie of Powered By Produce, who got us addicted. And she's right, they're muy delicioso!
They're so flavorful and tastes like the real thing. The big difference is that these don't leave a layer of grease in your pan - or your arteries.
